50 000 visitors
On 6 November, the Maison du Souvenir celebrated its 50 000th visitor, in parallel with the inauguration of two motorway signs, in partnership with Vinci Autoroutes society.
On this occasion was presented a retrospective exhibition, allowing everyone to measure all the way done for nine years, even though the structure planned to accommodate about 3,000 visitors a year.
She returned a few milestones that have marked the history of this place:
- 6 editions of the exchange of young German-French
- exceptional temporary exhibitions (Priest Péan, the demarcation line, The Hales, 1914-1918, from both sides, Armand, Wilhelm and the others, unique french-german exhibition…)
- unique animations (cartoon contest sponsored by Plantu « Cartooning for Peace », premiere of Christophe Weber’s documentary film 25 août 1944 : Maillé, un crime sans assassins, inauguration of Michel Audiard’s « Plaques »…)
- official visits (ambassador of Kosovo, Albert II of Monaco, State Secretary in charge of veterans…)
and of course its inauguration in 2006 by the President of the Republic.
This retrospective exhibition is still showing,
